May Day, May Day

To start the month off we enjoyed some serious cousin time
when Melanie's kids came to stay for a few days while she went out of town.

That weekend we headed south so we could watch Mark
compete in an Ultimate Frisbee tourney in Provo.

Matt and  Emily were so good to host and entertain the other
kids while I spent the day at the field watching Mark play.

Can we say accidental "Twinners"!

On the way home we met Jordan and family at the park for a quick
few minutes before the rain started.

That same busy weekend, Jotham was in Nauvoo visiting his parents
after a business trip in St. Louis.  Oh, he had a good time!

They are so enjoying their mission!

Hyrum had a busy, busy month!

Track seriously kicked his little hindy, it was brutal.
You could see his shoulder getting broader with every workout.

He started out wanting to do hurdles but after his first big crash and having to deal with
road rash up and down his leg for weeks, he settled on the 200m and 400m.

but with school, work, dance and track, we hardly ever saw him.
So, I'm completely okay if he doesn't do it again next year.

and duh,duh,Ta-DA! He got his braces off!

So handsome!  The retainer has been hard but he is finally starting to talk normal again.

Then he finished up ballroom this year with an amazing spring recital!
I feel bad this was the best picture I got.

His cute girlfriends all came to watch him.

But as soon as the recital was done, he was over taken and consumed with anxiety as try outs approached for next year's teams. He auditioned for the company's top competitive team and....
 he made it!

We are so happy for him! He literally smiled for days and days!

Hannah spread her wings this month and got a cell phone just in time to
head off to Yellowstone for the three day 9th grade field trip.

The first day on the bus she kept in contact with me pretty good and all was well. But the next day,  radio silence...I called her and texted her. As the day wore on, I was beginning to worry.  So I began calling and texting her friends. Nada... Finally later that night, she called, a little annoyed: "Mom, there is no cell coverage in the park! Quit texting my friends!"

Oh! ...riiiiiight... I might just be a little hyper-paranoid about sending
my daughter off to new places with strangers.

I am so over PTA, I logged more hours at the school this month than I care to remember.
But I did enjoyed being the Room Mom for Gavin's class this year.
I joined them on several field trips as the school year was winding down.

Jotham took the girls on the first over-nighter of the season.
Oh, they had a nice time!

Mark has finally hit the big time!
After measuring and measuring for months, he finally did it!
He is now taller than his momma!

In honor of Memorial Day, I went to Montpelier with mom and decorated the graves.

That Monday we visited Jotham's side of the family:

We finished the weekend off with our annual hike up Little Mountain.
So fun to have Melanie's family join us!

Oh, how I love my little handful!
