Black and White Days

Its was Richmond Town Days this past week.  Richmond hosts the largest Dairy Holstein Cow competition west of the Mississippi, and for the first time since we've lived here,we didn't make it down to the pavilion to look at the cows.  Sadness.   The kids were all very disappointed.

We did however:
  • attend the Moo-vie in the Park, late Friday night
  • run in the Cow-a-bunga 1 mile race, early Saturday morning (the kids all placed within the top three of their age brackets, despite going to bed late - yeah!
  • entered the Dairy Foods Contest (Mark won first, Hannah second!)
  • walked around the booths and repeatedly told the kids I didn't have any money to spend
  • watched the parade and came home with so much candy the kids have opened a "taffy factory" - featuring custom taffy sculpture.
  • cleaned the house and had some family friends over for a cook out.

It was a busy day.  I love town days.
