Christmas Festivities

I'll be honest, I was grumpy Christmas Eve.
I had a headache and was over tired.
I was not smiling and struggled to take very many pictures.
We went through all the regular christmas eve traditions and dinner and
really enjoyed having Grandpa and Grandma Hatch all to ourselves.

Here's a few pictures from our retelling of one of the greatest stories ever told.

For some reason my Christmas Jammies always leave room for improvement.
Mark is such a good sport, he's still been wearing them too big and tells me they are perfect.

Christmas morning the kids all lined up at 6:45 am
(they'd slept in despite their requested and granted permission to wake at 5:30)
anxious to see what Santa brought.

We took this same picture 2 years ago, a side-by-side comparison is interesting.

Christmas morning:

Hollie received the "safety" bow and arrow she's asked for

Hyrum didn't really know what he wanted, so he was pleasantly
surprised with all the nifty things he found under the tree with his name on them.

Gavin was as happy as could be, in Superhero Lego heaven and who doesn't love
a blinking red rudolph nose?

Not real sure what we were thinking, but Hannah definitely
doesn't need to spend anymore time reading...

Despite getting the dsi he'd asked for I think the Captain America
shield that shoots nerf darts that Gavin picked out for him was Mark's favorite gift.

I gave Jotham T-posts to build a fence and he finally consented to buying a saw
for me.  Its a real humdinger of a saw too,  he even got the rolling portable stand with all the bells and whistles to go with it.  Excited to start a project....soon...er or later...

  1. Wait, what kind of saw?! Miter, compound miter, table? I must know....

    1. oh, katie, if you don't already have one, you will be jealous, I feel like a kid from a christmas story when I tell people. Its a 12" dual bevel, sliding compound miter saw with... the rolling stand...its pretty sweet. And heavy duty, I almost cried christmas morning, its too heavy for me to move even with the nifty rolling stand.
