Gavin and I spent all afternoon the day before his birthday making little lego superhero minifigures out of fondant for his cake. We had a good time, even if everyone including Dad and Aunt Jill wondered why we didn't just use real lego figures to decorate the cake. I now have the molds and a few tips to share if anyone is interested. Did you notice Gavin's secret addition to the cake? That's him hanging out behind Batman, he just couldn't resist adding the figure we made to represent him to the cake.
Back in the first part of December, Gavin was helping me decorate for Christmas and he asked why we were doing it. After I explained that we do it to celebrate Jesus's birthday, his eyes got all big and round and an excited grin filled his face and he said "let's decorate like this for my birthday!"
And so at long last, after Mark's birthday and Hyrum's birthday and Mom's, Hollie's and Dad's birthday and then Jesus's birthday it was finally... Gavin's birthday!
