Sometimes you think your heart will burst with happiness and this was one of those moments.
The only thing lacking was the fact that Hannah wasn't with us.
She had to finish up her last day of classes in Rexburg.
But she made it home the next day
And then my joy was full.
Not sure how much longer they will all still fit on that couch!
Ahhh! I need a pause and rewind button!
One of my greatest accomplishments while he was away was the fact
that I kept his plants alive for him for the full two years.
That in itself was a miracle.
From Hyrum's Facebook:
"HOME. What a wild and wonderful two years it has been! I will forever cherish the memories I have made in the missions of West Virginia and Argentina. I am forever changed because of the people there and most importantly because of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know He lives. I know that happiness is found in Him and His plan. This gospel changes lives! I know that because it’s changed mine. I feel blessed to have been able to share that message of hope and happiness with others for the past two years."
I believe there will be special place in heaven for covid missionaries.
It was a pretty rough, winding road for two years.
And thanks to Covid more than a few detours had to be taken.
But there were still a lot of gorgeous vistas to enjoy
and blessings to remind me that there is always a silver lining.
It was a lonely walk, with more than one companion that refused to get out bed.
but there where some good times too...
His testimony is strong and the love he has for others
and his Savior are powerful.
Not being able to meet with many members or investigator friends
Hyrum sent a lot of pictures with signs.
The 1/2 way mark is a big deal on a normal mission,
imagine the excitement when you've been quarantined for months on end?
Burn...shirt...burn...
(The irony is that he is burning a shirt he'd already burnt with an iron! Haha!)
And a few more signs that just make me smile:
