Zions - Spring Break

Spring Break - What to do? What to do?

We just couldn't decide where to go or what to do and Spring Break was fast approaching. Then to complicate matters, Hyrum's Spring Break was two weeks before the public schools and we just couldn't see how to were going to be able to cater to both of them.

We ended up trying to do a few fun things the week Hyrum was home. We enjoyed Hollie's choir show:

We went to a fun aquatics center in Layton after one of Mark's frisbee games and then forced Hyrum to use (ie share) the ski passes we'd gifted him over four years ago for Christmas.

After the difficult decision to leave Jotham home alone to fight the flood waters, we headed south thinking we'd find the sun.  Our reservations where such that if we didn't use it we'd loose it.

We stopped by Ephraim on own way down to say hello to our favorite Snow College Student and enjoyed a shake at the cutest little 50's style diner in town.

Then as we continued southward we found ourselves smack dab in the middle of a late Spring BLIZZARD.  We were forced off the freeway because a semi jack-knifed near Cedar City and it added some serious drive time to our travels on unplowed sideroads and sketchy mountain passes. But Mark was a steller driver and we were so relieved to arrive at our destination, a cute glamping camp called Wildflower.

We hit the Park bright and early Tuesday morning, hoping to avoid some of the crowds and just about froze instead. The white snow on the red mountains sure made them look majestic though.

We stuck close to the visitor's center that first day and enjoyed the vistas.

The Watchman was our favorite hike that day.

As the weather warmed up and the snow started
melting we were left with some pretty sticky red mud to navigate through...

We decided to just do a few fun things

We can't leave without our smashed pennies
