A Grand Adventure

Oh, the summer bucket list!

What seems like a grand idea at the first of the summer
when you have all of summer before you and supposedly all the time in the world,
becomes a nagging of cloud doom by the end.

but there it was on all of their "lists"

about 2/3 the way down

-  ride a train.

And because I keep trying to be that amazing mom,
a ride on the Frontrunner from Ogden to SLC it was.

Check.

Once in Salt Lake we met up with Suzanne, Phin and Millie,
They were kind enough to share with us their pass
to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum.

  It was a real treat.
Gavin was a baby the last time we stopped to play at the museum.

They had a blast!

I want you to notice Hannah down left in the next picture:

She's reading.

The stinker...she brought a book, I guess she might have
been a tad old to play pretend, but still!

I was kind glad Hyrum had a Cross Country Meet and couldn't come.

The rubber pit was the best!

We ate lunch (and walked around on the city sidewalks for Mark's bucket list).
Next, the plan was to visit the Planetarium, but it was all under construction.
So I made the kids run to catch an earlier bus and then we headed home.

And the ride back home still held all the original novelty.
Getting up and moving around, the bathroom, strange people.

hmm...country kids in the big city...
