I have wanted to volunteer and work at a living history museum since the dawn on time.
Finally last spring, I decided to get my act in gear and called to volunteer at the American West Heritage Center. But they never called back, all spring I waited, and then summer started and we got busy, and it moved to the back of the mind. Then randomly the first part of August, they called and apologized for misplacing my name. So excited! I scrambled and put some period clothing together and we went.
The kids learned how to play pioneer ball and I gave tours of the old homestead.
The kids had a fantastic day!
The other volunteers and hosts were so good to us!
Can't wait to go back next year!
