Back to School

I thought last year was big, but this year everybody will be gone all day and all five kids will be changing to new schools.  Because of the new High School where Hannah and Hyrum will go, boundaries changed and everybody will start at a new school with new friends.  Lots of changes.

Hannah started school a day earlier than the rest with a Freshman Orientation.  While all her friends tried to talk her into driving with them, she insisted on riding the bus that first day so she'd know the in's and out's of the bus at the new school.  She's smart like that.  Knowing they'd only explain somethings like where to meet the bus after school that first day.

The next morning we sent Mark and Hyrum with her on the bus.  Hyrum will probably drive Hannah most days, but realized the logic in Hannah's thought process and decided it was a good to know those things just in case he had to ride the bus one day.

It was strange to realize Hyrum's a junior now and has now run out of fingers.

Mark started the 7th grade.

And then just like that they were off!

Can I just say I'm a big fan of the new later start times.
30 minutes of sleep is huge for those teenagers!

Back home for the elementary:

Hollie is in Fourth Grade:

And Gavin starts 1st:

Watching my baby trot off down the road with that
giant back pack always pulls at my heart strings.

But they were excited!

and then...

I was left home alone for a glorious 6 hours.

Only it didn't feel very long, and the days still seem to slip away
and stuff doesn't seem to get done any faster.
