There's not much going on in the middle of Iowa. Day two into our journey and we notice a road sign advertising the original American Gothic house. "That'd be fun to stop and see," I mention as we pass on by. Its the same thing I said about the Pony Express Museum and a multitude of other interesting and diverting locations along the way. Jotham appeased me and said that when he retires we'll take a cross-country road trip and stop at every road side attraction we see. But today we had goal in mind, we are only a few hours away from our destination and honestly just wanted to get there.
So like all the rest we passed on by.
But on the way home... the pull was too great.
That dang education in Humanities got the better of me.
So in freezing cold temperatures with a wind chill of who knows what
we decided to make the Momma happy and make a pit stop.
They had a a couple of movies about the artist, I choose the shorter animated one.
Which was probably a mistake, it was pretty cheesy and over simplified for the teens.
After we gave up on the movie, they provided the costumes and the pitch fork free of charge.
So we all took a turn.
Froze our bajeebees off.
But seriously, Gavin just makes me laugh.
And I grinned, a stupid silly, happy grin
for at least another couple hundred miles.
No regrets.
hehe. I love the spectacles Gavin. So serious.
