The end of Dancing

Its so hard saying goodbye and seeing the end of an era.

Provo High was fun, the decorations festive.

The Utah Classic was exciting as he placed 2nd in Latin and 1st in Rhythm.

Grandma Jo came with us to Nationals and we cheered him on as we watched him find his groove, placing over couples that usually beat them and even beating one of his former dance teachers and making the semi-finals in Adult Novice.

Three weeks before Nationals, Cache Valley Ballroom contacted him asking if he'd be willing to help them out.  One of their boys just quit and left them in the lurch.  So with just a few rehearsals he learned their entire routine, and became an honorary member of their Gold Team. He had really missed dancing with a team and its been such a positive experience dancing with CVB, plus gaining some of the best dance friends ever.

Another exciting element at Nationals was watching Charity Anderson dance cabaret.  Hyrum loved watching her and Andres take third on World of Dance last season and to see her live was a dream come true, then she came and sat in front of us the next day, wooo-weee! so fun to watch your tv crush live and in person.

He even got up the courage to ask for a picture with her before the weekend was over.

The season came all to quickly to an end at Gem State the end of March.
I arrived a day later than Hyrum and sat and watch and walked around for hours looking for him.

 I was beginning to worry.

Finally once Cache Valley Ballroom went on, I discovered why I couldn't find him.
I didn't even recognize him.

While at nationals, Aunt Jill gave them an impromptu lesson on west coast sing. And they looked amazing!  Kelly wore her grandma's vintage pants and made Hyrum a matching bow-tie from the extra fabric off the hem. They looked fabulous!
